Why is the item I ordered not available?Updated 4 days ago

Product availability on Italist depends on the current inventory of our partner boutiques and retailers in Italy.

When an item is listed as available on our website, it means that our system shows the item as available in one of our partner locations. Italist regularly refreshes product listings based on inventory updates received from our partners, and we do our best to keep availability as accurate and current as possible.

Why can an order be cancelled after I place it?

In rare cases, an item may be purchased in the partner's physical store at the same time that a customer is attempting to purchase it online.

Because inventory is not always updated instantly, the website may still show the item as available when you place your order.

As a result:

  1. You may successfully complete your purchase online.
  2. You will receive an order confirmation email.
  3. Our partner boutique will then check the item's availability and prepare it for shipment.
  4. If the boutique discovers that the item was already sold in-store before its inventory was updated, they will not be able to fulfill the online order.
  5. You will then receive a cancellation email informing you that the item is no longer available.

We understand that receiving an order confirmation followed by a cancellation can be confusing. This can happen because our inventory is provided by independent partner boutiques and may change before the latest update reaches our system.

We continuously work with our partners to keep inventory as accurate and up to date as possible, but we cannot guarantee availability until the partner boutique has confirmed the item and prepared it for shipment.

If an item from your order becomes unavailable, Customer Care will contact you with the appropriate information regarding the cancellation and refund.
